The research conducted by the AMJCC is carried out through the Research Group in Archaeology and Pre-Hispanic Sociocultural Diversity - ARQUEODIVERSIDAD, attached to the Department of Visual Arts and Aesthetics of the Faculty of Integrated Arts. The most relevant research programs, undertaken since 2000, are as follows:
1. Pre-Hispanic Sociocultural Diversity in Northern South America (Since the year 2000)
2. Prehispanic Aesthetics (Since 2005)
3. Geoarchaeological Prospecting in Valle del Cauca (2000-2016)
To carry out its research, the AMJCC has an archaeology laboratory with collections for both ceramics and human bones.
