







In 2009, the Museum and Community Newsletter was created, which has established itself as the main organ of printed dissemination of the Museum. From then on, the AMJCC information began to be uploaded to social networks such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. All the spaces disclosed have the main objective of socializing the results of the projects carried out by the Museum, and inviting people to the AMJCC as well as to learn about the work that is carried out about Southwest of Colombia’s cultural-archaeological heritage.
One of the important aspects of the mission of the Archaeological Museum "Julio Cesar Cubillos"- MAJCC, is to contribute to the training of undergraduate and graduate students, both from the Universidad del Valle, as well as from other universities that have curricula in Anthropology, Archaeology, Visual Arts, History and Social Sciences. Between 2009 and 2021, the professor of the Department of Visual Arts and Aesthetics and director of the Archaeological Museum Carlos Armando Rodriguez, has taught the following courses: Pre-Hispanic Culture and Art in Valle del Cauca, Art History I, Art History II, Research, Ancient Societies of America, Ancient Societies of Colombia and Ancient Societies of Valle del Cauca.


Associate Professor – Distinguished, at the School of Integrated Arts of the Universidad del Valle, affiliated with the Department of Visual Arts and Aesthetics. He obtained his Master’s degree in History from Voronezh University (Russia) in 1980 and his Ph.D. in History – Archaeology in 1987 from the Institute of Archaeology (Moscow). His research interests focus on the following topics: the pre-Hispanic sociocultural diversity of the Northern Andes (Colombia – Ecuador – Venezuela); the funerary customs of ancient populations; the evolution of social complexity; social organization and stylistic analysis of ceramics; and archaeological cultural heritage. Since 1994, he has been the director of the Julio Cesar Cubillos Archaeological Museum – MAJCC. Since 2004, he has coordinated the Research Group on Archaeology and Pre-Hispanic Sociocultural Diversity, ARQUEODIVERSIDAD.
