In the main exhibition room of the AMJCC, there is the permanent exhibition entitled "The Pre-Hispanic Valley of Cauca: A history to know" which aims to show, through ceramic objects as aesthetic expressions, the great sociocultural diversity that existed in the territory of the current department of Valle del Cauca, ten thousand years before the Spanish invasion.

In this exhibition room that covers a space of 140 square meters, we have distributed ten showcases, where 36 ceramic and lithic pieces representative of seven pre-Hispanic cultural expressions are exhibited: Culture of hunter-gatherers and food producers (8000-2000 BC), Ylama culture (700-0 BC), Yotoco / Malagana Culture (0-1100 AD), Tumaco-Tolita II Culture (300 BC-600 AD), Late Quimbaya Culture (500-1550 AD), Sonso Culture (500-1550 AD) and Bolo-Quebrada Seca Culture (800-1550 AD). Fifteen posters complete the exhibition with succinct information about each of these societies.
